A Wedding on the Brain

My tummy is still full from nummy Mellow Mushroom pizza, but unfortunately not fuller still with Ben & Jerry's because the crazy place closed at 9pm. I mean, what's that all about? And I was totally in the mood for ice cream, too (even saved room for it!) But enough of my complaining, at least Cliff and I were blessed enough to spend a fun evening with Zach and Jody playing Frisbee at Pinkerton Park until dusk and enjoying a lamp-lit dinner in downtown Franklin. We've really enjoyed getting to reconnect with the community at People's through our new Sunday school class, and Zach and Jody are one of the couples we've really loved getting to know better and hangout with! It's also great, because they're not only great new friends but they are doubling as our wedding photographers, too!

For some reason, I have been especially wedding-focused today. Maybe because Cliff took me out on a simple, but great Wednesday night date last night at Carrabba's (mmmmm...) and it made me look forward to the date nights we'll be having for the rest of our lives. Or maybe it's because my wedding band came in and Cliff picked it up and it's in my safe-keeping, along with his - and just seeing it (okay, and maybe trying it on again for size) was so exciting. Or maybe because Cliff booked our honeymoon yesterday and I have no idea what or where it is (except that it's 5 days, 5 nights) because I want it to be a surprise. Or maybe it's because I've gotten emails over the last couple of days from Jenn and Kim with questions about the bridal shower they're so graciously hosting for me in Maryland in May. Or maybe it's because I really am marrying the love of my life and I have been especially reminded of it by him lately.

Either way, I've been working on a few things today like shower invitation lists, order of ceremony, bouquet designs, and even going so far as to create a color palette to physically demonstrate the color theme I see in my head instead of leaving people to imagine.

Here it is, if you're interested:

Black bridesmaids dresses, orange and ivory/white flowers, blue ribbon for bouquet ties and tuxedo accents... let's just hope it ends up looking at least similar to what I see in my head, right? :) That's all I'm asking for, and yet, even still, no matter what the colors are or how well our pictures turn out or who shows up... I'll be making the biggest and most wonderful promise of my life 114 days from today. And really... that's all that matters!
