Friday Link Love

  • So Erin totally tweeted about this earlier this week, and I just had to share.
  • Too funny. As I heard it called, the ultimate source of WTF?-ness.
  • So it seems like it'd take some time, but making your own pita bread seems totally like something I'd love to do.
  • Who doesn't love patterns?
  • I don't even remember how I found this, but I really want to swim in some of these sometime in my lifetime.

Friday Link Love

  • I really liked this. Kind of nostalgic, kind of new.
  • Speaking of nostalgia, I spent way too much time clicking through these the other day.
  • Some really good ideas for photographers.
  • I'm a sucker for appetizers and fingery-foods. Don't be surprised if I bring this to the next party you invite me to. Hint, hint.
  • This video is 20 minutes well-spent for my creative friends and any fans of author Elizabeth Gilbert. Think, "Eat, Pray, Love."
  • Dave's March e-Newsletter is particularly packed full of some great info, especially with the way our economy is right now and with it being tax season.
  • Okay, now this a pretty ingenious idea. How stinkin' clever.

Friday Link Love

  • This makes me want to read Atlas Shrugged all over again. I think I just might.
  • I can't get over this video post that Zach Arias guest-blogged for Scott Kelby the other day. Incredible. Worth every minute of watching, even if you're not into photography.
  • I have requested that we build one of these in our backyard one day. Cliff agreed!
  • Nerdy, but totally cool.
  • This site and its subjects blow my mind. (And make me feel not so weird anymore for my preferences for certain food-pairings.)
  • One of the many reasons I appreciate Donald Miller.
  • And what is a little link love without a delicious recipe?

Forgotten Link Love

This one is just too good not to add to the mix. I had bookmarked it earlier in the week and completely forgot about it until I reached in my pocket and found a random penny. Check it out!

Friday Link Love

  • Yeeeeeees, please. Because these look so very much like the Warm Chocolate Melting Cakes from Carnival ships, they sure do hold a lot of promise.
  • I have seen this snippet posted in about a kajillion places this week (talk about viral), so I thought I'd share in case you hadn't seen it yet. You have to at least make it to 4:00...
  • So, I think Cliff and I should make it a goal to stay in at least one of these hotels in our lifetime. Eh?
  • I think the tampon stun gun might be my favorite? Or not... What's yours?
  • Gosh, I love cats. And I'm seriously not kidding. They are a genius species.
  • I think this is what was meant by "shout to the Lord."

Friday Link Love

  • I just discovered Google Calendar Sync and it has changed my life. It's like my own portable Microsoft Outlook calendar.
  • Erin tweeted about this video, and I just had to share. The outtakes are especially darling.
  • Yet another reason I find myself dreaming about having an iPhone, these days.
  • Need a laugh? Despite the hilarity (no pun intended) of the idea, I think there might be something there. Anyone wanna start a club?
  • To Woot or not to Woot... there is no question. They've got some good electronic deals on here!
  • Speaking of deals, if you've never been to Steep and Cheap you should. A friend in grad school put me onto it and I only recently discovered the alert systems you can set up to see the deals that come up throughout the day.
  • I am astounded by this man (please nevermind the subtitles) and what he's doing with his life. Nat, this reminds me of our conversation the other night...

Friday Link Love

  • How did I not know this?
  • Speaking of "how," I love how-tos. And this one came in handy last week when I made tuna paninis with avocado, monterey jack, and yummy caramelized onions.
  • Okay, so it's Friday afternoon and I'm starving. So here's another great recipe for one of my all-time favorite foods.
  • A quick convo with mom about offering up my old acoustic guitar to someone on freecycle reminded me of this useful little gem. Who doesn't like free stuff?
  • Have you ever been somewhere wondering where the closest wi-fi locale, was? Well, wonder no more.
  • I don't know if you've ever used trip advisor, but it's kind of my go-to for travel reviews. See what you think!

Friday Link Love

  • This is seriously too cute.
  • I want to swim in a vat of this stuff. It's that good.
  • With the inauguration just a few days away, this advice could be useful.
  • Doesn't this look delicious?
  • I like Switchfoot. And I think Jon Foreman's a genius. Therefore, Fiction Family is something I am very excited about. Now if only I can wing a visit for us to the Belcourt on the 30th...
  • And lastly, this is an inspiring article that sums up the reason I decided a couple of days ago to take today off. On that note...

Friday Link Love

  • "Want" to "see" something "funny" ?
  • Or maybe even something funnier like this. Please be warned, there are slightly hairy (though humorous) buttocks involved. And despite the humor, I do feel really bad for the guy.
  • If you've ever seen "Anchorman" you'll enjoy this product. And no, before you look at the URL and freakout, it's not a naughty site.
  • I go here, sometimes, to remember that when I find the occasionally poorly parked vehicle... I am not alone.
  • Alright, it seems there's a theme. A kind of snarky theme. And this site is no less so than some of the previous.
  • I like pizza. And I like that there are things that can make it more nutritious for you. And I also like that now I don't have to buy the stuff in the store any more. I can make it!

Friday Link Love, Monday-Style

  • This is clever. Who knew?!
  • After this past week, I have confirmed that these are in fact my favorite chips, EVER. I've always been an utz girl but Honey BBQ takes the cake. I might have to do some ordering, I see.
  • Mom sent me this great resource for all the details on plastic bag recycling.
  • Because I really need to be spending more time on Photoshop. Really...
  • A simple and classic appetizer recipe I can't wait to try!
  • For Christmas, I got two of Scott Kelby's digital photography books (Vol. 1 & 2) and if you're looking to get into it at all, I'd highly recommend them.

Friday Link Love

  • My day never fails to get brighter, after watching this video.
  • We can get our fix. And there's no poop to clean up!
  • I have never seen anything like this. Those are hands!
  • Mac animated commercial fun, one and two.
  • Digital Photography 101, for serious. And it makes sense!
  • Now, I've always thought etsy.com was cool. But this is just neato!
  • If you like foods from around the world, you should really check this out!
  • I noticed when we went to see "Four Christmases" the other night that Reese Witherspoon's hair was doing Houdini lengthening and shortening tricks. It didn't bother me, though, because I think movie goofs are kind of fun.
  • I am absolutely obsessed with Nick Brandt's work. I also have a new gift idea if anyone's interested... One day, I'd love for a whole room to be decorated with his prints!

Friday Link Love

  • I think this is such a cool concept, and so intriguing.
  • I really want to see this film.
  • If you're in Franklin and want some good eats, Merridees is the place.
  • Our universe is so incredible. Thanks for sharing this, Nat.
  • I have been a Katherine Heigl fan for a long time. And I am very excited to see her in this new movie with Gerard Butler.
  • Remember Steve, from Blue's Clues? Okay, whatever. I do because I have a brother who was pretty much obsessed with the show when he was just a tot.
  • I have never seen anything like this in my life. Festive, much?

Friday Link Love

  • You think you know, but you have no idea. Well, at least I didn't. I only got 14 out of 25.
  • This makes me feel like a kid again. Only, it's virtual, and that's awesome.
  • We really love the music at our church. The worship team has recently recorded an album and you can check some of the tunes out here. So excited for its release!
  • It's just ridiculous, and that's why I love it.
  • The moment I saw the photo for this recipe, my stomach started growling. No lie.
  • Cliff insisted that you all could use a little motivation in your lives, this Friday.
  • This stuff is food for the gods. Thank you, Heather, for introducing me!

Friday Link Love

  • I kind of think this is hilarious. And obnoxious, at the same time. There's just something about the beat. Or maybe the fact that we went to college with these guys. Who knows.
  • So, we're a little behind on the twitter bandwagon. But after my tutorial with Molly last night, I'm fixated.
  • I seriously had to wipe up the saliva that made it to the keyboard after drooling over this recipe. Finchers, wethinks this might do for a side on Sunday?
  • Nashvillians, if you've never read or haven't yet bookmarked Nashvillest, you should. It's incredible the things you learn about your city. And two of my fellow Virginians-turned-Tennesseans run the site.
  • You've seen this one, right? Because if not, you might want to.
  • I can't stop listening to Erin McCarley.

Friday Link Love

So the last night wasn't as late as it could have been.
But that certainly called for an early morning.
The job is done.

It's time for some mental sanity...
or something like it.

Now, for this week's edition:

Friday Link Love

I'm all about traditions. My job, right now, is about carrying on some of the best that have ever taken place at Belmont. They give you something to come back to, time and time again.

So... I've been trying to think of some things to do regularly around here. And by here, I mean the blog, of course. Our little space on the Internet. The place some of you stumble upon and others, for whatever reason, keep coming back to. And some sort of tradition (or multiple) seemed like a good idea. And there's a lot of them out there.

"Friday Link Love" will be our first.

And it probably needs no introduction (as it is a regular spot on many sites in the blogosphere), but these are links to some things that have struck our fancy this week (and maybe a few weeks back, since this is our first one). And since we don't have a topical blog, don't expect everything to really make sense or go together. Over the weeks, you might find videos, articles, newly discovered blogs, a particularly riveting blog post, etc. etc.

Just work with us, okay?

Now, for our first edition:
