I'm munching on Cheez-its, browsing through recipes online, and feeling pretty excited about the fact that I just completed my last policy brief for Access class. I still have a 20-pager due in a week and a half and a presentation to accompany the paper, but that's it.
We are becoming increasingly more excited about Christmas. We both listen to Mix 92.9 now on our respective drives in to and home from work because they're on their all Christmas music programming. I manage to catch more than he does, considering my drive is four times as long; in one day I manage to hear "Happy Birthday, Jesus" about two or three times everyday, along with an appropriate mix of other Christmas (not holiday) favorites.
Tonight, we're working on putting together our Christmas cards and sending those out while watching "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" and eating a warm, home-cooked meal of baked chicken, mashed potatoes, and glazed carrots. Mmm, I love having the time to cook.
In other, non-Christmas related news, Cliff and I began our training yesterday for the Country Music Half Marathon in the spring. Cliff, being the runner that he is and me, being the "slow to get back into running after turning into a runner only just last summer" runner that I am, are quite an odd pair. But not so, right now. While Cliff ran cross country in middle and high school and a whole heckuva lot at West Point, we're both starting kind of at ground zero... think, "can manage a mile with some trouble... forget another one after that, though." So anyways, Lampo is getting a team together and spouses are encouraged to join in - so we are. We're working towards the Nashville Zoo's Zoo Run Run! 5K in January. Cliff did the Zoo run last year, so he knows the course and finished well. I, however, have never run more than approximately 2.1 miles in one sitting so I've got some work to do. So we'll see how that goes...
By the way, Cliff brought our camera home from work and I finally had a chance to upload some of those pictures I mentioned before, so feel free to check them out!

Hold on. What's this? Spouses are encouraged to join? I hadn't heard that! It could be because I think I am having a heart attack by the time I reach the stop sign on my street. Or maybe because I haven't bought "gym shoes" in (kid you not) almost 10 years. You think? I will cheer you on. How's that? I can do that. I can yell really loud. Just ask my family.
I just want to point out two things:
1. I love the new photo of you two.
2. It is getting close to the number of days since your wedding being greater than the number of days until we graduate. Light? Perhaps? (Can't believe you guys have been married that long. Seems like just yesterday!)
I so wish I liked to run....*sigh*
