I finally uploaded some pictures from our adventure when Cliff took me to shoot a gun for the first time a few weeks ago (it's in "our pictures" if you want to see them). I unfortunately didn't catch a few shots of him shooting with the deer rifle because, again, my camera freaked out, but that thing was loud and pretty ridiculous. I've been telling Cliff for years that I want to go hunting and he finally took me seriously so we set up a target practice and I learned like a pro!
And after a ridiculous day, yesterday, I had to capture what I came home to... these:
plus a perfect note.
Just the touch of beauty and sweetness I needed to close the day with. It's amazing how God provides for me, and not just through Cliff. It's sometimes the small things, but they're always SO big, you know?
I actually handled having to cancel the event (a bus roadtrip down to Florida for the VU-UF football game with Vandy Fanatics) that I've been working on diligently for a couple of weeks pretty well this morning. That's been part of my frustration lately (not the event, just the lack of coordination and communication with students who said they were interested in coming but weren't showing up to pay their money while I sat in the office all week). So now, I don't have an event and we're both pretty bummed because Cliff was going to come with me, along with a few of my co-workers, as staff volunteers. Oh well, right?
I can't believe I haven't mentioned that it's Homecoming at Vandy this week. I guess that's because I haven't gotten to experience a whole lot of it sitting in our office all week. But yesterday I worked the blood drive for a few hours and will be helping out with float-building and the Quake concert tonight. I'm actually pretty excited to see Kanye tonight, if only to experience "the hype" surrounding that guy and his career so far. Cliff and I are both staffing the event tonight, along with the parade tomorrow, and Casey and Sara gave us two of their tickets for the game so it will be a full weekend. I'm just excited to be free from the office today, really. It's actually 10am and I'm still sitting on our front porch (since it will be a late night, tonight)! Guess I better get going...
