Happy July

And happy Fourth of July!

We had a great weekend at the lake, one which I think Cearra really enjoyed. It was really neat to experience some of her "firsts" with her, like eating Wendell's Cream of Wheat for breakfast, seeing whitewater rafting as I drove her along the Ocoee River, realizing that she was seeing a type of boat (pontoon) for the first time ever, taking a ride (and drive!) on the jet ski, and trying slough goo.

Since we got back, we've been doing some errandy type things for the wedding. We got her bridesmaid shoes, bubbles, ribbon, ring pillow material and buttons, and did a lot of "research" on printing programs and bubble labels. On Monday, we had lunch with Cliff at Which Wich? in Cool Springs thanks to the intrigue created by one of Cliff's co-workers' quest to try all 51 sandwiches. I had the reuben and it was great. And then yesterday we ended up going out twice (didn't mean to) to have lunch with Amy (to go over the wedding schedule) and dinner with Amy and the other ladies from our old bible study. And her wonderful mother who is town for a visit came to both! For lunch we had PM (mm, sushi, edamame, and sweet potato fries) and dinner was US Border Cantina (mehicana).

I have cooked, I promise. Cliff and Cearra were my guinea pigs for a dish I saw on "30 Minute Meals" awhile back and I even made a big brunch for the two of them this afternoon. Blueberry pancakes, mmmmmmm.

We saw "Transformers" last night, which was pretty awesome - we've got another movie in store later this week (as well as a dinner of Cearra's favorite foods tomorrow for her birthday).

So now it's the fourth, and we're just hanging out and it's wonderful.
