Random Flow of Thought

I just took out my suntan lotion for later today and the bottles are almost empty. (Pat myself on the back). That's right, I haven't been frequenting the pool or lake for more than two months and I'm almost out. I'm not sure if that means I spend time outside too often or if that means I'm just being really good about protecting my skin, but either way - I'm happy. Sure, I'm not the tiniest little thing in a bikini by the water but I'm comfortable and it's good. Besides, I love love love my Hawaiian Tropics SPF (in 8, for the legs, 15 for the midsection, and 30 for the top and face... I know, I'm a goofball) and I'm just now getting into chick lit and am starting on Emily Giffin's second book in what seems to be a series of sorts. I get to forget about everything when I'm sitting on the side of the pool or on the dock with a book in hand.

The first birthday celebration was a success, I think - really low key and enjoyable. I love love love (three, always, for emphasis) Gene Kelly, and "Singin' in the Rain" on a big screen in the middle of a park in Nashville surrounded by people (some who talk a little too much, maybe) was a great way to take it in. We clapped after some of the film's best numbers which made you feel like you were actually watching the performance right there in front of you. Cliff had never seen it before and really liked it. And we had cupcakes! Casey and Sara (even after having a car break down and get towed to the dealership!) and Zach (no Jody, soooo sad... coming back from the Big Apple) joined in on the fun. Tonight is birthday celebration number two, which I'm really really excited about. Hope it's as enjoyable for him as I think it will be for me!

One month!
Ah!

We're starting to get into all that fun stuff we have to deal with like getting renter's insurance and all the rings insured (I started a policy yesterday, woohoo!), switching my car title, registration, and residency to Tennessee (which, along with auto insurance, health insurance, and everything else, will come after the wedding). I think we're probably going to get our marriage license next week (which we can do now since we've hit the 30 day mark and I found my license!).

Good times, for sure! And my sister comes a week from tomorrow!
