Sandwiched in between the mysterious and wild reaches of Northern California and Southern Oregon... and the white, sandy beaches of the Gulf Coast, is a trip Cliff and I will be taking to visit and be with my family in New Hampshire. With my mom, brother, and sister... my grandpa... my great aunt and uncle... and so many more.
Mourning, in part - celebrating, in another. Being together to remember Grammie and to cherish each other. Seeing a small sliver of these United States and large chunk of my family history that I haven't visited in more than a decade, plus a few years.
It's a trip, yes. To a beautiful place, no less. But it will be different kind than any other this year. And while we look forward to it, it is not entirely with lightness - though still with some joy - of heart.
