Working [Out] Together

We went to the gym together, today, for the first time since like February or something. Okay, not really, but it's been a long time. Too long, in fact.

Back in January and February of last year (prime resolutions time), we were hitting the gym hard at 6AM every morning, keeping up a great routine and training for the half marathon. And then Cliff got the flu. And who knows what really happened after that. A week or two of recoop and we've been scattered ever since. Sure, I've hit the gym for my weekly yoga classes in the summer and an occasional strength-training or cardio workout... but no plan or routine involved. And not a lot of coordination between the two of us.

Needless to say, the 5:30AM start today was a little too much for my morning manners and I was not very fun to be around. But, I felt great after. And looking back on it, I wouldn't trade running through circuits with my best friend and husband for doing it alone. If I think about it right, it's kind of like playing... just within the confines of a concrete structure with padded floors and lots of metal and plastic. Kinda sounds like jail...

So, looks like we might be back in the saddle. Which will hopefully no longer be so pronounced on my upper thighs...

Speaking of the half marathon, now's the perfect time to begin training for the April 09 one! I'm doing it again!
