Rest of the Weekend Report

Well, Cliff is back (in case you haven't surmised this fact, yet).

According to his weekend recap, it was a great trip overall. The team found some time to make a drive out to Multnomah Falls(where he proudly purchased a patch to commemorate their short hike). Dinner with two of his ELPs on Friday went well, as did the Live Event on Saturday, with about 8,000 people in attendance (it may have been 9,000 now that I think about it - because 8 is usually my go-to number). He met some great folks from Seattle who were volunteering for the event that have offered a place for us to crash anytime we're in the area. (Looks like our idea for an anniversary trip in the Northwest just might come to fruition!) He went to bed sore and tired, and woke up early (not without turning his clock back, of course) and joined the team on their trek back by way of Portland International Airport. At least there he made a visit to a much more condensed version of Powell's... though I told him it's nothing like the real thing. He brought me back an Oregon mug (because while he does the patch thing - more specifically when we hike - I like to have mugs from places all over the world.)

It was great having him back last night, though the weekend wasn't so bad without him. Saturday I worked with Zach and Jody on a wedding at CJ's off The Square which was really a nice location for a small, intimate wedding and reception. It was such a unique experience, being on the other side of a wedding like this, not knowing the bride and groom, their families, or their story. I loved working with Zach and Jody, though, seeing them in action in a way that I just wasn't able to when I was one of their brides. It's amazing how much you can learn by observation and this is a prime example of that. I am a lot more comfortable with terms, techniques, and equipment even after just two shoots with them... and all it makes me want to do is practice and learn more!

Sunday was a great, a refreshing morning at church and an afternoon spent prepping to bring dinner to the Krehbiels tonight after the birth of their little baby Cohen (!!!), as well as cleaning for the return of the hubster. Turns out a clean apartment was the last thing on his mind, but it was nice to have it all in order none-the-less! We noshed on Sonic, watched "Family Guy", and caught up on the last couple of days we hadn't shared through short conversations on the phone.

It's so nice to have him home again!
