Just kidding. But still, it's like we got a night away in our own hometown. Complete with a barking one year-old pomeranian who is just so very precious but so very spoiled. Cliff didn't want her in bed with us last night, which is what she's used to, and that involved a lot of whining and barking until I exerted my human dominance (nothing physical, just mean-talk, you know) on her at 1AM and she quieted down. Needless to say, I didn't sleep well. But that's alright.
We played a lot of Guitar Hero this weekend, I must admit. Our friends Chad and Brooke have the game and we ended up playing for hours both Saturday night and last night. Of course, while the boys played, Brooke and I "rocked out" on our real guitars playing the likes of Taylor Swift, Rascall Flatts, Bryan Adams, and Ingrid Michaelson. I hadn't played guitar in atleast six months and I couldn't even begin to tell you how nice it was to have my fingertips hurt so bad after hours of playing (not to mention my fingers from GH). It was awesome, and though Cliff's not a pro or anything at GH, he is so very entertaining to watch and is getting much much better. The guys bonded over "Free Bird" and the ladies bonded over "Teardrops on My Guitar". That's how we roll...
Today is St. Patrick's day and unlike large portions of the American populations we will not be going out on the town to drink green beer or dance a jig. (Though I have requested that I get to make a "poor man's black velvet" at home for Cliff and I to share). Instead, we'll be going to serve and share dinner with some homeless men through Room in the Inn at our church. We always look forward to this opportunity, so I'm sure tonight will be enjoyable.
In other news, I got a letter from Harpeth Hall yesterday letting me know that I was not going to be asked to move forward in the interview process for the position I applied for there. I had assumed that was the case, after about a month of no word after a previous month of no word, but it was nice to actually get a letter. I had long since become emotionally unattached to the position, so no harm done.
Guess that's all, for now.
