The Christmas Diaries

A full tummy, a cup of cofee, and background music from Guitar Hero III being played by the nieces and nephews in the next room are the current setting for this Christmas morning. Well, I guess now really it's the afternoon. The only thing that could make this day better were if humans were as lucky as cows to have two stomachs so the one I have didn't hurt quite so bad, and if I could be with all of my family intermittently today.

It's been a quick couple of days here in Cleveland, which involved a trip to Blue Ridge, Georgia and Merciers, seeing "National Treasure", wrapping everyone else's gifts for each other, Christmas Eve Eve dinner, a sleepover with the nieces and nephews, Christmas Eve Morning presents, Christmas Eve service, Christmas Eve dinner at the extended family's, a gift exchange between Cliff and I this morning, and Christmas brunch out at the farm with the family. We just finished eating, and the biggest of all this year is about to be given to my father-in-law (a really nice gas grill for the cabin) by the family.

I have missed my family much these past few days, realizing that "normals" for everyone can be so different - which is not always a bad different. How fortunate, though, are we to even have to struggle with having so many family members all over the place. For that reason alone, we get to travel, and to experience all that each of our respective "homes" have to offer.

So from our family to yours, Merry Christmas!

It's so good to have you and Cliff home. I am excited about bringing in the New year with you...with all my children!
