Whoever came up with the idea of paying a babysitter $10/hour to "watch" a kid that was asleep 45 minutes before you showed up to babysit is a genius. A convenient Saturday night to have free (Cliff and Aaron are on a tour-de-south adventure sport road trip which they set out for last night and return from sometime late Monday), I'd say. Besides, a sleeping 18 month-old, "Ghostbusters" on Bravo!, and a 3 year-old golden retriever turn out to be great company!
I'm just kind of hoping tomorrow won't be as quiet as today. Not only are my buds gone, but my roomate and several of my close friends are out of town for the weekend... the first conversation I had with anyone all day today was with the woman at the register at Gap when I attempted to squelch boredom (and prolong actually getting schoolwork done) with a trip to the mall to spend some Christmas gift card money. The guy at Blockbuster was nice enough, too, and I felt like I spent an hour and a half with a really quirky but beautiful family as I watched "Little Miss Sunshine."
Tomorrow is church and schoolwork and laundry day, officially (not sure if you saw that on your calendar). I also rented "Marie Antoinette" to watch at some point, which will hopefully give some incentive to get a little more of my work done (although, to be honest, I really have become a skilled procrastinator, which makes it an easy technique to resort to). Oh, and by far the highlight of my weekend - this mini-series is premiering tomorrow night and I've already made plans to go over to the guys' apartment to watch it since we don't get the Discovery Channel.
Alright, I guess that's enough of mindless banter about my weekend. Hope you're enjoying yours!
p.s. I love driving at dusk after hot summer (or spring in this case) days, when the air cools up and fills the car through open windows and it's still light enough that people are outside, jogging, gardening, even sitting on their front steps playing a violin. Sigh.
